Because you can't trust anyone or anything on the Internet nowadays, security measures are more and more sought after. When it comes to emails, Criptext offers a powerful and highly effective means of protecting your privacy. The software comes with end-to-end encryption capabilities, as well as other features that make it more convenient than many other email clients on the market. It's clean and simple, but it has a lot to offer.

The application works on all modern Windows systems, and it's also available for Mac, Linux, Android and iOS. Downloading and installing the software doesn't take more than a minute, and you don't have to have any special tools or services installed. Apart from a working Internet connection, you don't have to meet any other requirements.

Criptext is a stand-alone email service, so you don't have to connect to an existing mailbox, though you can specify an email address for recovery purposes. One of the software's main selling points is the fact that it stores all your emails on your computer and never on any servers. As a result, the messages you exchange with your partner will be heavily encrypted on both ends and unreadable for anyone else.

The user interface is laid out like that of many other email clients. You can switch between your inbox and other mail folders via navigation tabs, on the left side, and read your messages in the larger area on the right. Colored icons and text make each email easier to differentiate from the others, so you won't end up spending a lot of time sifting through your messages, trying to figure out where they came from.

Besides its heightened security and efficient design, the software comes with other interesting and useful features as well. For example, its email "Unsend" allows you to take sent emails back, so you don't have to worry anymore if you've sent a document to the wrong person or an awkward message to someone because you have an hour at your disposal to remove the mistakes you've made. Also, the software's read reporting functionality can help you figure out if that clumsy love letter you've sent has been opened or not, so you can remove it before it's too late.

Simplicity, efficiency and a highly effective security system are things you can expect to have if you use Criptext to email people.

Pros

Criptext stores email locally and not on any servers. It comes with end-to-end encryption capabilities. Also, the software can tell you if your emails have been read and it lets you unsend them if you've made a mistake.

Cons

Some features, like email unsending, works only between Criptext accounts.
